3 Ways to Claim your Squarespace website on Pinterest and Enable Rich Pins!

On this blog, you’ll learn how you can connect your Squarespace website with Pinterest and enable rich pins whether you’re on a premium or personal plan with code injection or no code injection !

But first

Why should you claim your website ?

Claiming your website gives access to:

  • Analytics for the Pins you publish from your site.
  • The analytics on Pins that other people create from your site and let people know where they can find more of your content.
  • Your profile picture will show up next to any pins that come from your site, as well as a "Follow" button for your Pinterest account.
  • The globe checked icon will appear next to your website URL on your profile.

For the first two methods, we are going to add the “HTML Tag” code to our Squarespace website.

Let’s grab the “HTML tag”:

Login to your Pinterest business account, navigate to “Settings”, go to the “Claim” section,

On websites click the “Claim” button and copy the code !

That’s it, it’s going to be easy, promise ! Let’s start

  1. Injecting code on the Header:

Adding code to header on Squarespace is a Premium Feature.

Navigate to your Squarespace back-end:

  • Click “Settings”, go to “Advanced”, then “Code Injection”
  • Paste the “HTML Tag” on the Header and hit save !

Go back to your Pinterest account, click “Continue”

Enter your website URL and click the button to verify.

Congrats ! Website Claimed, You’ll get an instant notification email from Pinterest !

2. Injecting code on the Header:

This method is great for Squarespace personal plan users!

Watch this video or follow the instruction below

  • go to “Pages”,
  • select your “Home” page,
  • Click “edit”.

Choose any section on your “Home” page:

  • Hover over a text block or any content block,
  • Click the “+” icon, scroll the menu, and select “<code>”
  • Paste the “HTML Tag” and click Apply!
  • Don’t forget to hit “Done” and Save!
  • Go back to Pinterest, click continue and type your domain name and click “Verify”.

Well done !! Website claimed

3. Connect your Pinterest with Squarespace App:

“no code injection” is needed in this method, I personally discovered this one because I was hopeless to verify my website on the “personal plan” and I thought I can’t add any codes if I wasn’t on a Premium plan.

To start you must have a Pinterest business account and at least one board on your account if not, go and create one!

To make it easy for you to follow watch this video.

Inside your Squarespace config back-end go to “Settings”:

  • Select “Connected Accounts”,
  • Click on the “Connect Account” button,
  • Click the Pinterest icon,
  • Give “Access” to the Squarespace app (you must be logged in Pinterest),
  • Select a “Board” and hit save!

Isn't easy! I told you

Congratulations! Now you claimed your website !
